The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is one of a number of recent additions to the subcompact crossover SUV segment that shun the staid, mundane styling of the past in favour of a more aggressive, sporty, and appealing aesthetic. All versions of the Trailblazer look sensational and you might be pleasantly surprised at just how much vehicle and style you get for your money with a 2022 Trailblazer.
When it comes to trim levels, the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer follows the automaker’s now-familiar format of four trim levels where two are available in front- and all-wheel-drive versions and the two higher trims are standard all-wheel-drive. The first model in the 2022 lineup is the LS which has a very attractive starting MSRP but still comes with a generous level of standard features. Next up is the LT, which many people consider to be the sweet spot for value in the 2022 lineup, especially when ordered from the factory with the addition of AWD. The third trim level is the Trailblazer ACTIV and the top-of-the-range version of the Trailblazer for 2022 is the sporty and very well-equipped RS.
Unlike a lot of the competition, the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is available with a choice of engines. The standard unit found under the hood of LS and LT front-drive versions of the Trailblazer is a 1.2-litre turbo-three that puts out 137 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft. of torque that comes mated to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). If an AWD version of the Trailblazer is what you’re looking for you’ll then be getting a more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-three engine which then gives the Trailblazer 155 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft. of torque to play with that goes to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
ACITV versions of the 2022 Trailblazer come with a more off-road orientated suspension setup, but the on-road ride is still just as comfortable and compliant as the rest of the lineup with the standard suspension.
A base LS version of the 2022 Trailblazer comes with a starting MSRP that’s as attractive as the vehicle itself, especially in standard front-drive form, but it still comes with an impressive list of standard kit for the money that includes alloy wheels and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, most retail buyers will probably look to the LT trim and above, especially as you then get to tailor your order to your specific taste and requirement with options such as a black contrast roof and adaptive cruise control.
Top-of-the-line RS models are particularly generously equipped and stylish with standard 18-inch alloy wheels, deep-tinted glass, Driver Confidence Package, and leatherette/cloth upholstery. But even this range-topping model can be further enhanced with a good range of options available as a factory order.
The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a sensational-looking subcompact crossover SUV that can be tailored to meet your specific needs with a good range of trim levels and an impressive list of available features from its extensive options list.
